Headed to Bhutan!

— Zachary / Monday, September 30, 2013

Next month we'll be heading halfway around the world to explore the Rivers & Dzongs of Bhutan. This will be our third year of leading trips to this spectacular Buddhist kingdom nestled in the Himalayas.

Rafting below the Punakha Dzong in Bhutan

We love traveling to Bhutan for the pristine natural environments, unique cultural sites, and infectious natives that always make us feel so welcome. Unlike a typical river trip, we spend time hiking, biking, and rafting across the most scenic parts of Bhutan. We combine outdoor activities (especially rafting!) with visiting the Buddhist shrines, temples, and dzongs (monasteries) found across the country.

If you've ever wanted to explore central Asia, Bhutan should be on your bucket list. By strictly limiting the number of tourist visas issued each year, Bhutan retains its mystery and charm making it a top destination for world travelers.
