Trip Report from the River - What's going on on the Rogue?
"It's going to be a hot one!" was the cheery announcement from Katrina, our trip leader. There were 5 of us in the front of the truck - still groggy and waiting for the coffee to kick in. The truck, affectionately named Howie, was loaded for the trip - trailer with rafts and soft gear, the truck with all the coolers and boxes. We started down the drive, honked the horn good-bye to the guide house and another trip on the Rogue has started. Upon seeing...
Great News for the Middle Fork Snowpack
The early reports for the Idaho snowpack this season have indicated that it will not be another huge water year like we saw in 2008 and 2009, but the cool spring has us hopeful for a nice, long season on the Middle Fork of the Salmon. The past few weeks and today's weather forecast are great news for those of you rafting the Middle Fork this summer. Despite beginning the winter with 170% of the average precipitation in October, November-March were atypically dry throughout the Northwest....

Trivia Contest Winners!
We asked you on Friday to Name That Bird and were thrilled with all of the guesses we received! The bird in the photo is a Double-crested Cormorant, shown paddling the Rogue River last September. These large waterbirds have stocky bodies, long necks and webbed feet. As you can see from the pictured specimen, they swim low in the water often with only their necks and heads visible, which caused some ECHO guests to nickname them the "periscope ducks". Excellent divers, these fish eaters can reach...
